Wedding Tip | Ditch the Plastic Hanger

This past fall was a bit crazy for us…and I feel like I’m just now catching up on everything!  In order to catch up on some business items, we’re taking on less sessions for January and February.  Because of this things may be a bit dull around the blog.  Not that I’m under any allusion that we have so many people just sitting around waiting for new posts, by any means…

One trend that we notice from our end at this time of year are lots of wedding inquiries!  Christmas and New Years are very popular occasions for marriage proposals…so around the beginning of the year we always get lots of requests for wedding info.  With weddings on the mind lately, I decided to start a series of posts with tips on how to take your wedding day to the next level…from the photography angle, of course!

One detail that we always photograph before the wedding is the wedding dress…long before you step foot in it!  There’s just something about a wedding dress on the hanger that is just so serene and gorgeous.  One detail that many don’t think about (I know I didn’t think about it for our wedding) is the little plastic hanger that it comes from the bridal shop on.  Yes, it does its job the way it’s meant to…but it doesn’t match the grandeur of the dress.  The hanger is one detail that can really give your prep photos a special touch…and makes for a keepsake that you can treasure and pass down.  There are lots of cute ones on etsy.com…ones that say ‘bride’ or personalized with your name (or new name) or your date….  Even a padded hanger that you may already have around the house will look great!
