I was lucky enough to photograph this gorgeous family again as they were awaiting the arrival of the latest addition to the family!  Baby girl was born this past weekend and I’m so excited to photograph her at her newborn session this weekend!  I photographed Christi and Grif when she was pregnant with Fowler two years ago and love that I’m able to document their new journey with baby #2!  I’m not sure that Fowler really understands what’s coming up in a few weeks…after all, he did point at Christi’s baby bump and say ‘Sheep!’…but he’ll find out soon enough!  And I’m sure he’ll be a great big brother to his baby sister!

For me, maternity sessions are all about capturing a moment in time before everything changes.  They are more than simply photographing what a woman looks like when she’s pregnant.  They are more than just documenting the baby bump.  When I photograph first pregnancies, I always want to capture the love and connection between husband and wife…a relationship that no doubt changes, even if slightly, with the coming of a tiny baby.  The coming of a second baby adds a whole new dynamic to a family…so to me, documenting a second pregnancy is a chance to capture a whole different relationship.  You can check the link for the best pregnancy doctors. It’s about capturing the relationship between mama and her first baby…capturing the family unit before it’s changed yet again.  Though it’s a wonderful new addition, I also feel it’s important to capture and remember things the way they were before another bundle of joy is added! I’m always honored when I get to be the one to do this for others.  To be able to spend this time with families when so many new and exciting things are happening.  If I find myself smiling as I’m editing the photos from a maternity session like this, I know I’ve at least captured a fraction of the happiness and love that these families have for one another!
